Toy investment tips from the Geeks

Target stores are currently in markdown mode for all the toys they do not plan to carry forward into the fall/holiday season. A lot of lame ducks are being cleared out like the awful DC Infinite Heroes three-packs and the better GI Joe line to make room for the new, yet doomed Joe movie line.

But by far the best investment in the aisles are several Indiana Jones Lego playsets on clearance. These include most of the 2008 sets. Just about every major discontinued Lego set escalates in value eventually on the secondary market. Especially the ones tied to licenses. Go look up any older Star Wars Lego set on eBay.

Example: saw this $80 IJ4 Akator playset for $55 the other day. These kinds of sets are not likely to make it to the next round of clearance markdowns...buy 'em when you see 'em.
