Hot Toys Reveals! Ghost Rider, Watchmen Rorschach!

Take these with a grain of salt, but considering that they arrive from the same source, it seems likely they are not fakes. There has been much speculation as to when or if the Watchmen line would continue at HT, with many fans despondent that the star of the film has yet to be made – but here he is. The Ghost Rider figure was already announced, but these are the first pics. Note that both figures are not final versions.

3A Toys Ashley Wood Boiler Zombie Box Mock Up

First in a line of new 1:6 figures from Ashley Wood's fertile imagination, this is the Boiler Zombie from the "Adventure Cartel". These will be lower priced figures (current rumor is $80 shipped from HK, not bad) sort of Ash's take on the Adventure Team. They go on sale next week (the 26th (Melbourne Aus), I think, but for those in the USA, it's actually the 25th). Bambaboss DIY figure is sold the day before. Love how these are contemporary but retro. Awesome! Hate how Ash has released about 15 toys in less time than it has taken me to finish one custom figure. Rats!

Sideshow 1:6 Darth Vader Shipping Soon

According to Sideshow, these are going to start shipping from CA in 18 days or less.  So look for more surprise billing from Sideshow (unless it gets delayed again).

Sideshow 1:6 Vader Pics Including Size Comparison To Medicom Vader

A lucky Sideshow contest winner scored a production sample Vader figure and has posted some great photos, including a picture with the earlier Medicom Vader figure. Medicom has taken considerable criticism lately for the size of their figures (closer to 11" than 12") and the difference between the 14" Sideshow Vader and the Medicom version is pretty staggering.

That said, the Medicom sculpt still looks more screen accurate to me, making this an okay Sideshow figure, but a fail overall, especially as the Medicom figure had been out for at least a year and Sideshow knew what they had to beat.

Which begs the question, what the hell is going at Sideshow these days? Their prices go up as the quality of their output goes down. Meanwhile Hot Toys is doing amazing work at comparable prices.

I greet new Sideshow figures with the same enthusiasm I have for new naked Britney Spears pictures; sure, I'll look, but I've seen it all before and there's a strong likelihood that what I'll see will really gross me out.

Then I'll reminisce about the pre-Fed days and try to cleanse my pallet with some Megan Fox shots or even a Kelly Clarkson upskirt pic to get those horrible images out of my head!!!

The Latest From Loading Toys: Mark Wahlberg as The Shooter

Loading Toys is a 1:6 company known for creating figure "kits" that include everything but the base body with unlicensed head sculpts of well-known movie stars that (in most cases) haven't had their likenesses mass produced. So far they've done Daniel Craig, Jason Statham, Matt Damon and Tom Cruise. Here's the latest - not their best work, IMO.

Hot Toys Dark Knight Tumbler Actually Made

After months & months of delays with no word as to when (or in fact, if) the much desired Dark Knight Tumbler 1:6 vehicle from Hot Toys was going to be released, here's proof it has actually been manufactured and may be ready to ship soon. Considering it has taken DC Direct up to 6 months to get only partial orders filled in the USA, it might be smart to start looking at Hong Kong and Japanese sellers if you want to get this before you buy a new calendar.

KISS 1:6 Medicom Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley

Medicom finally gives Kiss fans what they want; 1:6 versions of both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in Destroyer era gear (and with Destroyer-era physiques), complete with painted / molded chest hair.

It's been 30 years since Mego introduced the first Kiss figures in the 70's, yet since the Kiss reunion/licensing resurgence of the mid-90's, no one has made articulated 1:6 figures with soft goods.

Hopefully Medicom will fix the obvious costume issues before production and give us Peter & Ace as well, but in the meantime, this is long-overdue, and a good start. Certainly much better than we could have expected from Sideshow, who briefly flirted with the license in their bizzare large scale figure line and will probably be the official distributor of these in the States.
